I have it set up. But anytime I try to watch, say an episode of '48 Hours', I click on it, get sent to the 'agree' page with the install button below, then I click and it starts downloading a flash player add-in but is interrupted by an "Installation Error . . . try again later".

What am I doing wrong? Jeez, I am pathetic with computers per se.

Where did you get the file? WMC supported files should not prompt for the installation of a flashplayer add-in. Are you sure it was a flashplayer add-in? Can you provide a screenshot of what you are seeing? The tutorials link above can explain how to do so.

The file is selected from WMC TV options.

TV (internet tv) -> Channels -> CBS -> News -> 48 Hours then I click on an episode. From that I get a "synopsis" window with a "play" option that I click. From there it goes to an "Internet TV Update page. On that page it says we need to update internet tv to play adobe flash videos. . . , then it has a box with the TOS and 'Privacy Statement' which I check. then I click "Update". That is where I first see the flash player add-in box trying to quickly download but it is always interrupted by a box that says: "INSTALLATION ERROR A problem occurred during installation. Please try again later."

Every TV episode I try does the same thing. The installation error box appears very quickly; the first box says "Downloading Media Center add-in for flash".

I see, I did not realize you were discussing Internet TV (as oppsoed to Recorded TV).

Go to the Adobe Flashplayer site directly using Internet Explorer - you may not even have it installed or at least updated - it does not come with W7 - it is a third pary add on:

Adobe - Adobe Flash Player

If making sure you have the lastest version of flashplayer installed does not fix the issue, I suspect it would be firewall related. Are you running Windows Firewall or another? In either case add WMC to the allowed apps list.

I tried d'loading Adobe Flash last night but used Firefox. I'll check firewall (it's the Windows Firewall).

No luck. Downloaded Adobe flash using IE, turned off firewall. Same thing... Strange but I did not see "WMC" as an app option on the firewall

Did you download and install it?

There is no need to turn it off, I recommend for now you turn it back on...Is 'Media Center Extenders' and 'Homegroup' checked for private networks only?

Nope. . . continues the same crap. Is it 'normal' to go to the "Internet TV Update" page, after you click the "play" button?

Ok, Zune, MSNBC, and MSN work. The others give the "Installation Error"

Have you run WMC setup from the beginning again?

Also try this: Tasks » Settings » General » Automatic Download Options » Download Now and wait a while for the download(s) to complete and run especially if you have a slower internet connection - at least broadband speed is recommnded.

Internet connection speed = 12Mbps. . .

Have tried both suggestions. . .

Thank you for taking the time. . . I give up.

Jay, I see from your other posts that you have been having multiple issues with WMC, WMP, and DVD...I suggest you remove all third party apps, codecs, drivers for WMC, WMP, DVD tec...they are the likley cause of your issues...and try setup again.
