WMC recording in unwatchable aspect ratios

Using HDHomerun Prime tuner to record tv through WMC. All was fine until a week or so. Intermittent wtv file recordings unwatchable because the screen size aspect ratios are unwatchable. I'm seeing 0.03, 0.04, etc.
I can usually hawk answers to problems I have on the web but, I am stumped on this one. I don't know if it's the HDHomerun, WMC or some other device in between. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

what does this mean ? aspect ratio is width/height eg 1920px/1080px = 1.77
is your image really 0.03 eg 1920px/57px ? - a thin horizontal line

Thanks for the reply. I record the wtv files through the HDHomerun Prime/WMC. I convert the files to mp4 using handbrake for later viewing. Recently, when loading the some wtvs into Handbrake, they were not loading. I saw in Handbrake under the Picture tab that the Source size was not correct. I have seen 16x464 w/ 0.03 aspect ratio and also a 0.04 aspect ratio. VLC crashes when opening the wtv and WMP plays the audio with a black screen.

File sizes are still around what they should be: 3 to 8 GB depending on resolution, framerates and show length.
