WMP 12 Pauses Towards the End of A Song in the Library

I know it's not only me that has this teeny problem (that has become annoying now). You know, when I play music in a playlist, the song suddenly stops playing for a few secs then goes on towards the end. It only happens when there are songs to succeed (e.g. on a playlist, the library) but when I play single files, it just doesn't happen.

I have a single core 1.67 GHz CPUed laptop with a 256MB ATI RAdeon graphics card, 1.3 Gb of RAM.

I don't think having a low-end system can justify this since there are some PCs with hi specs also have this glitch. It doesn't happen on Windows Media Center, though but the GUI of WMC just makes everything slow to me whenever I use other programs simultaneously with it. I'd like to use iTunes but I have to re-organize my playlist all over again.

Can you please help me? :confused:

Hello, Welcome!

I'm sorry to say this, but as far as I have seen, there is no fix. It seems like there are many users with the same problem, but no solutions. :(

Do me a favor, though, if you don't mind. If you ever find a solution to this, could you let me know?

If it really bugs you , you can try the zune software, which specializes in mp3.
However there are some things you can check on wmp12.
Right click when you playing an mp3 and in the "now playing mode". Click on enhancements, make sure some enhancements are configured correctly.
Good luck!

Oh no, please don't. After playing 20 more songs, it suddenly starts pausing again. I deleted that post for much disappointment. :cry:

I'm sorry. Got too excited on posting a solution. I thought it was already working fine for good.

@Sparkie - Thanks :) I forgot to respond to your solutions. I don't have Zune and I'm kinda hesitant to install another media player. But thank you for replying :)

BTW, I slept after posting (and deleting) my solution and... well, it starts "unpausing" again.

Just in case people are looking for a mild solution, here's what works for me.

=============

1. Go to Tools Menu > Options > Privacy tab

2. Under "History" box, uncheck "Playlist" and "Pictures". If you want, you can just uncheck everything under that box (I don't visit Recent Items on WMP12 anyway so might as well disable them).

3. Clear your WMP12 history and cache by clicking the Clear Cache and Clear History buttons.

4. Close the dialog box by clicking OK.

=============

The results:
When I first played 10 songs consecutively, there were no pauses at the end of each song. On the 11th, there's a bit of a pause (a split second, hardly noticeable unless you're listening carefully or you're playing too loudly). Or prolly because I was browsing the net but hey! Too much hassle if WMP12 can't handle multitasking.

Since I'm using a low-end system, to those who have good specs with this abominable "pause" phenomenon, please try it and let us know if this solutions works for you :)
