WMP Won't Rip!

I have a problem with WMP and ripping. It rips the first track of all CDs only. It moves to the second, but just gets stuck - every time. I have to reboot at that point and use Winamp for ripping.
Anyone else had this problem?
I'm on 7068 x64, but it happened with 7057 x64 as well.

No problem here. I have just ripped a classical CD, and am (as I am writing this post) listening to one of the ripped tracks. Could it possibly be a conflict between WMP and Winamp?

Good theory, but I only installed Winamp after the problems I was having with WMP.
It works perfectly on Vista.
What actually happens is that it rips the first track OK, goes to 100% on the second then WMP just freezes up.

Strange. I don't have/use Winamp, so I can't actually verify this. I was just reporting that I had no problems with WMP.

Just one more thought - is this a clean install of W7, or did you upgrade Vista?

It is a 7068 installed on top of a clean 7057 64 bit.

Try a clean install of W7 7068, as this is the version I used for this test. Note that I don't advise actually upgrading an OS, especially one that is still in Beta. Seeing as though the problem occurred in 7057 and you upgraded that to 7068, it could explain why you also had the problem in 7068.

This is a bit weird now.
Real Player has the same problem as WMP, i.e. gets to end of 2nd track being ripped on the CD then freezes.
Winamp is absolutely fine.
Any further thoughts?

I'm still leaning towards a possible conflict, and also the fact that you had problems in an earlier build (7057) which you upgraded to 7068 (instead of clean-installing it).

You're probably right. I won't worry about just now and I'll do a clean install of 7077 in the next few days when the 64 bit version appears.

Well, a clean install of 7077 did the trick. Everything OK now.
