I have 2 Win7 x86 machines on a LAN. I can wake the desktop (192.168.1.2) from the laptop (192.168.1.3) using mc-wol.exe utility and the appropriate MAC address.
I have also created a batch file that works manually, if I add to the startup folder it works but only when the local user logs on. How do I run the *.bat file during the boot sequence, without logging on? Is this possible in Win7?

Sorted, used Scheduled Task and created a new teask to initiate the batch file during start-up.

Shouldnt have to run any batch file... just enable WOL in bios and send the WOL signal to the pc u want to wake up.

But I wanted to wake up the other PC (desktop) automatically, (when the laptop is simply powered on). The set-up appears to work flawlessly, so I'm not sure how else I could achieve the same result, "automtically" that is.
