Won't boot unless I use "EDIT BOOT OPTIONS (F10)" at boot screen

In order to get my laptop running I have to press F10 at the boot, which brings me to a screen that says:

EDIT BOOT OPTIONS
edit windows boot options for: windows 7
path: \windows\system32\winload.exe
partition: 3
hard disk: 350f350f
[ /NOEXECUTE=OPTION /MININT
]

In order to boot, I have to erase the text:
"/NOEXECUTE=OPTION /MININT"

After that I can boot.

PLEASE HELP!

Hi, welcome to the forums :)

You could try checking the 'Environment Variables' options...

Click Start then right-click Computer and select 'Properties'. From there, click 'Advanced system settings' followed by the 'Environment Variables'. Have a look in the lower box to see if those exact options are there. If so, you should be able to delete them.

To be more specfic, if I don't use the little fix that I figured out (deleting the text at the boot options screen), my boot process stalls at CLASSPNP.SYS. I found that out by trying safe mode (which also does't work).

I have tried start-up repair, no success. I have tried renaming the file to CLASSPNP.OLD using the command prompt on the windows 7 repair disc, and the result I got was something to the extent of "Cannot find the file specified."

I hope this helps with solving my problem!

1 option is to try the 'Repair Computer' option.

Once you remove the text & start the boot immediately press F8 a few times as this will bring up the Windows boot options. The top option is 'Repair Computer'...

It should search for and repair any issues with the boot configuration. Also, another option is...

Once booted into Windows type 'cmd' (minus the '') into the start search, right-click CMD and select 'run as Administrator'. Next, type 'sfc /scannow' (again minus the '' ;)) which will search for integrity errors with your major system files.

Hope they help :)

That's fine! I double posted :P

And I really do appreciate all of your help with this! I am using the sfc /scannow test now, and I will update when it finishes.
