Sorry if this is the wrong forum for this, my friend is having a problem with their computer and I cant find anything anywhere about no being able to boot using IDE or AHCI.

My friend updated her bios and windows needed to reboot, but windows wont reboot. I dont know anything about computers myself, but I looked the problem up and brought up switching things from IDE to AHCI and vice versa, but apparently both options dont work for her and she just gets blue screen.

I know she has windows 7, and she'll be able to give me any other info you may need about her computer. We just dont know what to do...

Hi UniversalMon, welcome to the Forum.

Was there a reason your friend updated her BIOS. If you don't do it properly & know exactly what you are doing you can wreck the BIOS & make the computer unusable.

Have a look in the BIOS & see if there is a way to roll back to the previous version.

We will need a lot more information, such as the make of the computer, what motherboard it has, how old it is & where did she get the BIOS update from.
