hi guys i posted in another thread regarding this but ive found more out about this problem..

basically after upgrading from vista everything worked great, until i installed the intel matrix storage manager (from here ... http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Sea...e+Manager&ProdId=2101&LineId=1090&FamilyId=40 )

since then it wouldnt boot up, it got so far and stuck on the starting windows screen,

so i put it down because of the upgrade etc, but dont want to lose all my data so i did a fresh install of 7 on a different hd, everything worked great again until i installed this matrix software, so this is definitely the problem,

my question is..

is there anyway through a copy of xp accessing the windows 7 hard drive i could put back the files that get changed when upgrading?

the intel raid chip i have is the ICH9

cheers

Are you needing the RAID capability or are you trying to go for the chipset drivers...

Also...in your BIOS what compatibility mode is on (AHCI for example...)

finally got it sorted, i copied "iastor.sys" from an older version of intel matrix storage manager and it booted straight away, seems like my pc doesnt like the 8.9 driver!
