Solved Wont launch files from server

I have a computer network set up, and as of yesterday it was launching a .bat file off of my server, but this morning the file will not launch. I have checked my connection and the file sharing is all still working. does anyone have any ideas on how to diagnose this problem?

Welcome to the windows 7 forums.

A couple of questions.
1. are you trying to execute a shortcut to the batch file on the server?
2. are you mapping drives to the server?

If you are trying to execute a shortcut to the file on the server, your problem could be that your mapping is not connected yet.

open my computer to see if the batch files location is not disabled.

If no: What if you execute the .bat through cmd?

Yeah im trying to execute a shortcut to the batch file, ok i figured out its not a networking problem its now a matter of the computer launching the program itself. it will start the process and then just close out of the program.

how do you execute it through cmd?

you can just drag the file into the cmd window and hit enter

that didnt work, this is strange because other computers on the server are running the file just fine

Are you getting any errors?

no i get a pop up asking to run the file like normal, after i hit run the program starts to open up and you see a quick look at what looks like the command prompt then it closes

without an error and without visibility to the contents of the .bat file, this will be very difficult.
- Have you restarted the machine?
