Hey guys,

Strange problem with my newly built computer.

If I put a DVD or BD in my BD-writer nothing happens unless I go to into "Computer". It's like it's a sleep and won't wake up until I go to "Computer". When I go into "Computer" the DVD/BD activates at once. It could be a empty disc or a movie. So if I want to burn a disc and put it in the tray I have to go to Computer before I can start Nero. If I put the disc in the tray and straight to Nero it won´t get recognized.

This writer worked perfect in the old computer so it shoulnd´t be an issue with that one.
What the heck could it be, any ideas? :sarc:

Very odd problem.

1. Have you checked if any firmware updates for your DVD?
2. Any way to test the DVD in a different PC?
3. Not sure this type problem could be filter related but lets have a look. Download and click to run Filter Load Order Tool. Select the DVD drive. Click the Clipboard button you'll find at bottom of the tool window. Paste the result into next post

Yep, something`s up with auto play, seems it has a mind of it`s own anymore.

Reset auto play to defaults, make your choices, save and see what happens.

Or even set it to "Ask you everytime"

Thanks for you answers. The bd-writer worked perfectly in the old computer. It autoplayed everything. I still use Windows 7 ( the same version). Everything works fine except I have to go to "Computer" before I can browse or burn any disc. I see that there´s a fw update available. But if it worked perfect before could that be the solution? I also tried to reset all settings to default regarding autoplay. But nothing.. Also tried some of your reg-files. Nothing.. Really strange issue.

It has nothng to do with the optical drive working perfectly in another system, it`s now in another system, so it`s back to square 1, as I said auto play is screwy, I was plugging in a flash drive and it would not open automatically (I hated that) but I kept at it and now every flash drive I insert opens up automatically. (yes that`s how I want it) all my drives are safe.
