world ipv6 day-begins-24-hours-from-now

When?

Looks like I'll being getting a new router. I notice in my device tree I have tunneling and IPV4 to IPv6. The firewall problem for me needs looked into.

No, I have the same router. We'll all be buying new ones when we need to start using IPv6. See this, it's not just our old Linksys routers:

If that is true, then I shall not buy a Cisco, because they should be able to update the firmware on my E3000, without requiring a new router. Not updating the firmware would simply be a business tactic to promote sales.

Cisco routers do suport IPv6, if you have DD WRT:

AT&T U-Verse which I have supplies their customers with routers. In fact I called them and asked if I could replace their router with another of my choice that supported IPv6 and they said no because there is some firmware or something in their routers that is needed to allow AT&T U-Verse to work.

Guess I am in a wait and see mode on this.:eek: as I am satisfied with their overall internet service and TV features.

You can believe that providers will make the necessary changes to enable IPv6 when it's time. And since they provided your equipment, they will either have to update it or replace it. A Guy

No doubt AT&T will provide a new router unless all they have to do is update the firmware in the router!:D
