Hi,

Further to my previous post about WRC2 (over a week ago now)...no one responded so I have continued unabated to try and resolve this problem...here is where I have got to but have again run up against a brick wall!!!

Microsofts event viewer kept telling me about Xaudio2_7.dll...so I found one instance in 'system32' and another in 'syswow64' they were dated the same but of different sizes...therefore I tried a combination of the two swapped between folders.
When I put the smaller (507Kb) from the 'system32' folder into the 'syswow64' folder the game now loaded to the actual race but there was no sound and keyboard functions seemed to be affected aswell.
Having the larger (515Kb) file resulted in my sound coming back but still caused the game to stop working when loading the race!!!

Again any input would be greatly appreciated...what can I do now???

regards Russell.

Well turns out the solution was as simple as resetting my sound properties back to the lowest setting of 16bit 44100Hz CD quality.
