Worried about sticking a possibly effected SDHC card into computer

How do i check that a card is safe and does not have anything bad on it , my mother gave me this card from another computer that was infected terribly and it has all her pictures on it .

Is it safe to stick in my laptops slot ?

Thanks WHS , i have Malwarebytes installed but when i have inserted a card in the past there is no prompt to scan it .

Do i right click and go from there.

Yeah, go with the prompt. When the prompt comes up, you actually left click on it - I think.

I would go to computer, right click the drive and scan with your antivirus as well. In malwarebytes, click the top scan button then choose custom scan. Select the drive with a check-mark and click scan.

Never heard about that one donnab. Thanks I will look into it. Unfortunately nothing can take care of that firmware security issue. If only that could be fixed...
