Worth Changing from AMD Phenom II 1100T to I7 2600K?

Hi,
I'm considering whether its worth changing my CPU (and Mobo by default) to an I7 2600K for gaming purposes. My PC is geared towards and mainly used for gaming. I currently play games like Crysis 2 and Battlefield 3 and have read that my CPU can bottleneck my GPU at the 1080P resolution. Of course I ideally want to maintain a FPS of 60 as much as possible but have seen dips to 37fps on BF3 on kharkland for example. Is this considered normal? My FPS usually hovers around the 40-50 mark sometimes to 60fps with Vsync on (dont like tearing!). Also settings are all ultra with aax4. I have tried the FXAA injector but it usually gives me the good old BSOD.

For the most part its smooth but I'd like to get extra FPS. My is CPU is clocked to 4.11GHZ and GPU at 1000/1425. Also Im using AMDs current beta drivers (12.8/9?).

I dont mean to start any arguments about AMD vs Intel as I understand it can be quite a thorny issue for some!!

Would my CPU as it is now cause a bottleneck and inhibit my performance and is it worth the hassle of the move to intel? Or is my system good as it is?

My brother went from a over clocked 1090t to a 2600k and saw a decent improvement in bf3.
It didn't cost him much since he sold the 1090t and mobo and ram to offset the cost if the 2600k upgrade.
He currently has a 3770k and 7950 and bf3 is smooth as butter.

I have a 3770k and 6950 and bf3 runs great for me as we'll.
next time we play bf3, I'll check the min and max fps at ultra 4xAA on both systems.

Thank you the info. Is there much difference between 3770k and 2700K?

Should also say I'm going to be looking at adding in a second HD 7970 for crossfire later and understand the intels work better with this?

From what I read, 2600 and 2700k can over clock higher at lower temps, performance wise all 3 are around the same.
3770k with a z77 board supports pcie 3.0, but currently you won't see a performance increase vs pcie 2 and 2.1.
We upgraded since it was pretty much free, sold the 2600k and motherboards for about the cost of the 3700k and z77 boards.
2600k can be had for $280 or so and the 3770k is about $40+ more.
