Would like to install new MB & Processor

Running Win7 64 I have made an Backup using Acronis, now to install a new MB & Processor would I have to reinstall Windows?

Do you have an OEM copy of Windows? I mean if so, then you will need to buy a new one. If not, then I recommend just replacing the motherboard and CPU without doing anything just to see if woks. Sometimes it works perfectly and only asks to be reactivated. Other times, you have to start over.

Are you using Acronis 2010 or later with Universal Restore? If so choose that option to restore to a different mobo. If not you can on the old mobo SysPrep to move HD/image to another computer.

Win7 should then start up on the new mobo, although you might have to run Startup Repair.
