Antony, from your comments I'm assuming you are in the British Isles?
I suggest you may be getting a false positive from your AV.
May I suggest downloading Microsoft's "Security Essentials" which is being released Gratis for Windows 7 and removing the installed AV you have now and see if this resolves the issue.
This is the very reason I have also sent the data to Kaspersky - to find out if it is a false alert or not. If it is a false alert hopefully Kaspersky will be able to identify why. If it is genuine then the problem is still there.
