A few weeks ago I discovered that my Win7Pro laptop had not been doing updates for several months, due to errors, which appeared to be due to a corrupted SoftwareDistribution folder.
Having researched online, I renamed the SoftwareDistribution folder, rebooted and re-ran Windows Update. This pulled in a lot of updates. However, updates later than around August were not installed, due to error 80092004.
Having researched that, I managed successfully to install KB4474419 and KB4490628.
However, despite that, I still can't do any updates, and they all continue to fail with 80092004, suggesting the SHA2 handling is still not working.
I have run SFC, SFCfix and SURT64, and have attached a zip file of the logs. Please could someone advise the next step I should do?
I have not tried running DISM yet, as I don't understand whether it would be useful.
Many thanks!
Tony
