X-Fi SoundBlaster Issue

Ever since installing my X-Fi SoundBlaster Pro (worked prior to issue) new mobo (X58-UD3R), 6GB RAM, and i7-920, the soundcard won't even register in Windows 7.

I currently have my 5.1 speakers plugged directly into the mobo, my headphones connected to the front of my PC, my X-Fi soundcard inserted, and the "Sound" options in Windows only registers two playback devices: both "Realtek High Definition Audio".

I tried installing drivers for my soundcard but it said "Setup is unable to detect a supported product on your system."

The red X-Fi logo is on, so it's not a power issue. Is there anything else I have to connect to the soundcard? I don't remember the last time I used it but it DID work... and I find it strange Windows thinks that even though I have two outputs connected, it can only recognise ONE (meaning whenever I want to use my heapdohnes I have to plug them in, instead of picking them in the Sound options).

:(

Disable your Realtec onboard sound, turn off the computer, put the X-Fi card in another slot, and start up. Let Windows 7 install the driver for the card--don't use Creative's drivers...I've had nothing but problems with them.

ANd... if this solution does not works??

And if the drivers are not installed automatically, and not found automatically by the system?

Won't know unless you try. It doesn't sound like your situation could be any worse at the moment...

Thanks mate, just one more question, it does not only say me taht he can't find the device, if he finds that he tells me that there is a recent version of the drivers already installed.

Driver Sweeper seems uneffective on this, any suggestion on how to fully remove drivers?

I've followed your instructions closely, still the sound is dirty and screeches a lot :(
and with youtube vanishses after 2 seconds.

Also i've installed the programs from the X-Fi Support Pack 2 and it tells me that my device is not supported O.o

I'm desperate, i've tried really everything

Until I figured out my little work around, I had to leave my sound settings on 2 channel stereo.

This sound thing has been very frustrating!
