I'm going to be buying either a Logitech Quickcam Sphere Webcam or a Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000.

I'm currently running the x64 W7 RTM, I'm worried that buying either webcam will result in no x64 drivers.

Can anyone tell me if both or either have x64 drivers?

Apologies! You're right.
I just tried updating the driver by pointing to the Vista 64 driver on the CD and it works fine. I've just 'skyped' to Greece and the face tracking works a treat...

You shouldn't be asking people about your soon to be driver problem, it is a better idea to contact logitech and ask the real people who know.... I am not being rude, it's just common sense to run to the maker for answers.

This computer will become a good second computer until the time comes to buy a new computer.
People who have tried it are normally better then the makers. You don't get makers. You get someone getting paid min wage and knows nothing.

I think what r2l was suggesting was to look at the product your interested in and see if the manufacturer has 7 or more likely Vista 64 bit drivers available. IMO. At anyrate great to hear it is working. Now if you would do all of us a favor and fill in your system specs under user cp then everyone will know your hardware in case of any future issues. Thanks and welcome to sevenforums. Fabe

Thank you for the welcome...

Sorry for the excitement... I generally use forums passively and only ever post a problem as a last resort as there is usually someone had the problem before me.

My first port of call was to check out the Vista Compatibility Centre but couldn't find the Sphere AF mentioned.

Since I bought the webcam from new about one year ago I naturally did contact the manufacturer via email, three times - who naturally did not reply for whatever reason.

I looked on their website and found they state the webcam is compatible with Windows 7 although I could only find WinXP and Win Vista drivers.

I have read I can load some Vista drivers in Windows 7 and so thought I'd give it a try.

When I tried loading the Vista drivers Windows 7 blocked the software from loading stating it was incompatible with Windows 7.

After searching the internet for solutions and finding none, but finding the original post here from someone who had a similar problem I thought I'd ask some of the helpful people here.

Thanks to Zigzag who pointed me in the right direction and gave me solution, its now working all happy.
