Are you sure it can run 64bit? if you want to check you can go to grc.com and download secura which will tell you

I don't know how you are going to buy Windows 7 tomorrow. But when you do, you will receive both versions.

Having looked at a generic description of your/work computer, 32-bit will be more pain free. Even if it is 64-bit capable.

Yeah im allowed to install the new OS since its for my own company, not a huge one but a company

Hp dc 7100
Intel Pentium 4CPU 3,2GHz
2 gig ddr

@antman
So its more or less eayser to just test both and see wich one that works/works best ?

The first step is to locate 64-bit drivers for each piece of hardware. If you cannot find one for certain pieces, take the leap of faith that Windows has a "built in" driver.

Machines made by companies like HP are not known for being "OS upgrade friendly". Especially not one as old as yours.

But, you have suggested the most valid of all tests. Try it.

There is plenty of help available here for any issues you encounter.

Depending on the processor, x64 might not be an option. If it is, I say go x64, but your best bet is to look your processor up on Intel.com to find out if it supports x64 extensions. If it does, I'm sure you won't have a problem with drivers.
