Do x86 programs have to be installed in the x86 folder? I have a program that is looking for the default folder in Xp.

Just like to know before I try.

The C:\Program Files (x86) should be the default install location on Win7 64bit for 32bit programs and Win7 usually sorts that out on its' own. I'm wondering why that's not happening. C:\Program Files is the install location on 64bit systems for 64bit programs.
Hope this helps, at least a little bit

It doesn't really matter where it gets installed, as long as it gets registered correctly (which the installer does). Windows only has the two different program folders (x86 and x64) to create an illusion of organisation. It tries to keep the x86 ones in their own folder, but in the end it doesn't really matter.
