Xbox 360 Headset + Laptop

Hello everyone, I've got an annoying issue that is bugging the heck out of me.

I plug my USB Xbox 360 Controller into my laptop, then the Xbox 360 Headset into the Controller. I set the USB Headset Device (Xbox 360 Controller) as default..

Now the Mic and Speaker works, but its like the volume resets itself randomly.

Like I'll be listening to something and it will just go *pop* volume goes from muted all the way upto where it was (I don't mean it shows it on Windows as muted then slowly goes up, I mean thats what it basically does).

Now if anyone could replicate this, or knows a fix for this, I'd be most grateful. (as always)

I should also add the easiest way to replicate this;

Requirements
• USB Xbox 360 Controller
• Standard Xbox 360 Wired Headset
• USB Port

Steps

1. Plug your Xbox 360 Controller into a USB Port on your computer.
2. Download any drivers as needed.
3. Plug your Standard USB Xbox 360 Headset into your Xbox 360 Controller.
4. Go to control panel and go to the sound settings.
5. Under the playback tab, set the Headset Earphone as default.
6. Listen to some music through the headset and just go about what you usually do, you'll see what I'm referring to.

Note: Disabling the Microphone on the headset has no effect.

Old question but if still unsolved, Go to sound properties (Right click volume icon--> Sounds) And go to Communications tab.. Now are you sure it aint cause of these settings?
