Xerox Printers

Hi,

We recently moved to Windows 7 Pro in our organisation. We are having issues with practically all Xerox printer drivers. I am able to deploy the printer drivers but the users are being prompted for admin rights when they try to print to these machines. I have tried giving the users the ability to install printer drivers and have had no luck with the point and print group policy options. The HP printers we have appear and do not prompt for admin rights, only the Xerox copiers do.

Does anyone have any advice?

We have similar issue , In our case the Xerox printer is asking for installation of update Xerox printer driver and user are prompted for admin user and password . When we update the driver and check the version it is same a old driver version.

We have tried the point and print group policy options ,but no success.


Any help is appreciate .

This is only a work around.

Run the printers etcetera in a dedicated virtual machine, ONLY for the printers etc, and give users all rights to the virtual machine. This effectively obviates any permission problems, and also does not require any complicated rights-juggling on your system.

The old drivers will then also work without any prompting.

Below workround has worked for me

In first Step

I have installed the printer driver locally

Than I have deleted that locally installed Xerox printer.

In second step

I have installed network printer and than afterward there is no pop for update printer drivers.
