I know ATI doesn't manage nvidias physics technology, nvidias are more important to have than atis regardin physics?

Unless you actually have issues with the card I wouldn't worry.

Personally I always recommend NVIDIA, but that's just personal preference.

For a variety of reason, I too have usually gone with nvidia; most notably because their drivers are, imo, so much better. However, the bottom line is always, which card is faster at rendering the games I play?

For me, the choice was obvious; for you, it depends on what you're going to be playing?

I only want to play the force unleashed, i bought the card cause i want a better performance when playin bluy ray and HD files.

I've always gone nvidia too but this time was the exception. take a look here:
ORB - Hardware Prices and Performance

Ati is the king right know, next nvidia release fermi is gonna be expensive, you need an electric plant to run it and it generates plenty of noise.

the video card i bought is directx 11 compatible, ddr5 and has a pretty good mark at futumark.

However im pretty pretty worried about the ati drivers too..... i mean nvidia drivers sucks too but i've never had a BSOD with my current xfx 9500GT.

My PSU is a cooler master 500 watts so i can't buy a more powerful card than the 5770 the nvidia equivalent in price is the gt250 but it sucks.

I just purchased the XFX 5770 this past Thursday -- flawless card in my opinion. However, I feel I must clarify my position: I have 2 19" monitors for a total resolution of 2880x900. So I don't have a setup that is going to push this card very hard from the get-go. This card plays everything I have on max with no problem (haven't tried Crysis yet, but with only two monitors, FPS games kinda suck as the targeting reticule lies right in the middle of the bezel of the two monitors). If I had larger monitors or had it hooked to a HDTV, maybe my thoughts on it would be different. Secondly, every 3D game or bench I've run on this card has never pushed the gpu temp above 56C with the fan set on auto in the ATI Overdrive. My 4870, on the other hand, ran at about 76C idle with the fan on auto so my only choice was to set the fan on manual and set it to a speed where the temp would be low -- which, one would guess, produced more noise. Third, I wanted to do something about my power consumption and this thing sips power at idle -- unlike my 4870. Lastly, with the XFX model specifically, I like the conncectors provided: 2 DL DVI, HDMI, & Display Port. Many of the other cards I see only have 1+1+1 (DVI, HDMI, DP). Both of my monitors connect easily without the need for any adapters.

You don't get it? Sipping power in opposition to gulping power in great quantities?
I would believe that most people would want to have a card that uses lower power -- higher power usage equals higher electrical utility bill, which if your PC is your hobby, then less $$ for more toys and trinkets for your PC. (And I moved on from a 4870 Crossfire setup ... huge power usage). So sipping power = good thing;).

Physics? Don't care really, not to be disrespectful. I guess if I wanted physics I could get an nVidia card to install alonside, but then I'd have to scour the internetweb to find the hacked drivers to allow the setup.

The Flash HD plugin, as far as I know, is for gpu accelerated Flash -- so I would suppose that any gpu that can be used in GPGPU stuff would qualify (and the 5770 does: ATI Stream)

Check this out too for power consumption: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/HIS/HD_5770/28.html

mpcrsc562 thanks for your time man. Pretty useful charts the nvidias consume many many electricity, the 5770 is a good choice when you want to save money.

Good choice you made too, those 4870 twins were expending huge tons of electricity. 236 watts FGS!

In fact im gonna save more watts now in idle mode with the 5770 in comparison with my old 9500 GT 20--> 17 :D

Oh man the gts 250 is NOT a good choice that thing consume pretty much electricity. :zip:

Just wanted to show a temperature comparison:

Using AMD OverDrive, and doing nothing else but looking at SevenForums and email:
-First pic = cpu temp
-Second pic = gpu temp

It's awesome to me...
