Solved XFX R9 290 BSOD (amdkmdap.sys)

I've tried using the DDU and reinstall different drivers, both normally through the program and update driver using the device management. It was working before but all the sudden it just started crashing a few days ago. When I'm doing something more video intensive stuff, playing games or watching videos, it would start flickering and crash. Sometimes it would recover successfully error, sometimes it does not. If I just keep trying with the DDU and reinstalling driver, it would sometimes work for that night but something will go wrong the next day. It's just a repeated process for a few days now. I've attached dump.zip a screenshot of the bsod, and the analyzed zip file of my pc.
Please feel free to let me know if you need any additional information.

Hello and welcome nobody mate that atikmpag.sys dump is usually a fix of removing the Catalyst Control Centre and using the device driver only have you tried that? Download Drivers

No I do not have the CCC installed. When I'm installing the drivers through the program, I tried to keep it minimum, so I would uncheck whatever I can except for the video and audio driver.

Well I am going to have another look soon but I have to say I am not a fan of aftermarket software (DDU) I would rather use Control Panel or this Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Free and Full Download - Uninstall software, remove programs, solve uninstall problems again it is aftermarket I suppose but after using it for many years I find it very good because it does dig into the registry for entries of whatever you are uninstalling.

Now I am assuming you have tried the usual stuff like these
SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker
Disk Check < if necessary include the /f and /r in the command line as per Option2 > in safe mode if need be

SFC usually best run for three scans

SUPERAntiSpyware | Remove Malware | Remove Spyware - AntiMalware, AntiSpyware, AntiAdware!
Malwarebytes | Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Premium
AdwCleaner Download
ADW download from bleeping computer delete any rubbish found with the malware scans


Plus simply reseating the card and making sure the power cable is well seated -- sounds to simple for words but I recently had a crash issue with my Sandy Bridge build which was cured by just that.

Just one more thing is that the site you are downloading the driver for the card from??

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I just fixed it, knocking on the wood and fingers crossed.
I uninstalled the driver again then switched the slot for my video card. (I did unplugged the power and everything and make sure all the cables are connected tight and nothing is loose)
Installed the latest driver from amd crimson and unchecked everything besides the display driver.
Some how that worked out after all that . . . .

Marking solved for now.

That is good mate perhaps the card was just not that happy with the previous slot??
