son had to format dell with winxp. I had an older version xp disc I let him use to format his computer. after format he can not connect to Internet. I have a dell optpex running. dell has a folder that shows the drivers, In that folder Is a driver called broadcomm. can I copy that file & Install on his computer If needed?? thanks

If you look around you should see a sticker with a Service Tag number. It should also be listed in the BIOS menu. You can enter that number in the service section on the Dell site and it will list all the relevant drivers for that PC. Then you can download and save them to a thumb drive and use sneaker net to get them to your sons PC. The other driver might work, but this way you should get the correct driver(s).
