I know this isn't exactly the right forum to ask this but I'm hoping someone can help me. I want to reinstall XP on my PC but it won't see the partition. Basically once the disk goes through setup process it only sees the c: with a size of 131 odd Gb instead of the partition I created. I know why this is (my XP disk is pre service pack 2) and have found some really good links on how to fix this (Slipstreamed Windows XP CD Using SP2, SP2 Burning Instructions for Roxio) but unfortuneately it involves purchasing software which I can't do.

Does anyone know of a simpler method than lentioned in the above links? It would be a great help.

Thanks

You dont need any paid software. Use the free functionality of Isobuster to make the slipstreamed bootable CD. Then use CDburnerXP to burn to disk.

Too many to describe...
OS
Windows 7 x64 pro/ Windows 7 x86 Pro/ XP SP3 x86

I have a question regarding that first link. Can't I download sata drivers off the net and put those on a disk?

Also, during setup when asks for my 3rd party sata drivers can one remove the installation disk and get the sata drivers off another disk then put the installation disk back in?

If yes to both then that would be way easier than creating that slipstream XP disk, right?

A. 1) Yes, do you now what Sata controller it is?

A. 2) No, floppy disk only.

1) Download the Intel for installing Win XP x32 or x64.

2) Download the storage manager, from Acer if you want to install, Win XP work without it.

After loading the XP disk in nlite it asks for an .ini file. Where do I get that?

1) Download the Intel for installing Win XP x32 or x64.

Did that, here are what it gives me. No .ini file.

There is nothing there to download. Acer doesn't seem to really support XP for my machine.

What do I do now?
