Do I need to install hardware drivers in XP mode also. I have only took a quick peek at it as of yet so haven't checked the device manager to see what is says.

Update: It shows alot of Intel devices for my LAN and vid card when they are not Intel they are both Nvidia stuffs. And why is it auto hiding the IE8 update? I clicked to restore but did not install it but when I went back after the reboot from the other updates it hid it again...is there a reason for the hiding of this update? I most likely will rarely ever use XP mode since everything I use worked with Vista and when I get everything installed again on 7 I don't think I will have too many problems.

no you dont. VIrtualisation uses its own set of generic hardware (not just drivers) which it sets up. You should find that you wont have an nvidia card in virtual mode.

You can get IE8 from the official IE8 web page. Ive managed to get it installed ok.

One of the possible reasons for hiding IE8 is because thats the default browser in windows 7. So in theory many users may want XP mode for an older browser.

Makes sense. I certainly won't be using XP mode for web browsing. Be nice to put IE7 on it though so it would be a little more up to date compared to IE6.

Swarfega,

As it relates to this statement, I am trying to get my display adapter driver, within XP Mode, to update so it will recognize my graphics card.

Is there a way to do this so I can get this card to work?

And if not do you know why?

I have tried a lot of things I am aware of, but I am a beginner and need some help!

Thanks

Problem solved. Found the correct drive rand installed it ob the Win 7 side not the XPM side. Then running the programs in XP compatibility mode helped. Thanks to Eric at Frys in Houston.
