I purchased a Dell 1764 laptop a month ago with Win 7 Home Premium. I decided to upgrade to Win 7 Professional through the Microsoft Windows Anytime Upgrade.

I used the XP Mode a few times - just to look around. On one occasion, I got a message saying that updates were ready to be downloaded which I did.

If I get the same message in the future, do I download and install them or just ignore them?

Your excellent advice is always appreciated.

Was the update message appearing within XP mode or was it from Windows 7? It's sometimes hard to tell. I'd make sure both are updated just to be safe.

I just launched XP Mode and there were two updates - I selected the "custom" mode to see update details and they were both XP security related updates. I downloaded and installed both.
