XP Mode

I just installed Microsoft virtual pc and xp mode. In the event viewer it says to update to the latest version of Virtual pc intergration components. When I check tools in XP mode all that's there is disable intergration components. There's nothing there to update to the latest. Where do you go to see what version you have?

That's a good one. I'm using the same. The only thing I can think of doing is to disable integration components, then start XP Mode & see what happens. Then go back to tools, enable integration tools, start XP Mode again & see what happens! It can't hurt.

To Usually Upgrade Integration Components:

1. Boot the virtual machine (ex: XP Mode).
2. Login to the virtual machine with an administrative account
3. Open the Tools menu on the virtual machine window
4. Select Upgrade Integration Components
5. At this stage the integration components installer should start automatically – and will require a restart when finished.

To check and see what version of the integration components is installed:

1. Boot the Windows XP virtual machine
2. Login to the virtual machine with an administrative account
3. Open the Start menu
4. Open the Control Panel
5. Open Add or Remove Programs
6. Click on the entry for Virtual PC Integration Components
7. Click on the Click here for support information. link

The version number is displayed on the dialog that is now opened. Windows XP Mode ships with version 14.0.7600.16392 of the integration components. After the upgrade you should have version 14.1.7600.16403.
