Hey,

The installation says I can't upgrade directly from XP to Win7. Does that mean I can only upgrade if I have Vista installed?

Is there any way to bypass this?

Not from what I've read. There are just too many changes between XP and Seven. If you found a way to do it, I have a feeling you'd spend more time trying to "fix" stuff than you would if you just back up your data, do a clean install and reinstall your apps.

Sorry. :(

Actually you CAN upgrade to W7 from XP -- but only from XP HOME (Not perversely XP PRO) and then only to an X-32 version of W7.

This could be an option if you can't make some programs work or you don't have the installation stuff to re-install all your applications.

Clean install is better however.

Cheers
