xvid codec

Morning i have downloaded a film but cant' play it. when i try it says. xvid video codec maybe required to view video. i have googled this and been sent to website xvid.com downloads followed the instructions .
but i still cant' play it. any suggestions. please.

Sounds like a Codec SCAM. You need to restore your PC to a point before You installed the Bad Codec download. If you can't do that come back and we can work on removing any Crapware
