Yes, Internet Explorer 9 is extremely close to Release to Web (RTW), a milestone which marks the global availability deadline.

I have seen reports today indicating that the development process for IE9 is moving forward, and of course, to say that this is true would be nothing more than stating the obvious.

Unfortunately, I cannot share details with the public at this point in time, nor will I be able to until the Redmond company gives me green light to do so.

I've been waiting for the final now that SP1 is on to wrap everything up in the next system image. So far the RC has been running without any particular errors which shows it's coming along pretty good.

Why in the world would you refer to developers' site for comparisons? Wait till both of them releases their final builds, enough time for judgements after that

Agreed. I'm positive that if I wasn't using Firefox, I would be using Chrome...all before turning to IE.

I'm sure there will plenty of blog writers posting their own comparisons once both see a final version available. The focus here however will on comparisons seen between IE 8 and 9 that show the improvements to be seen with the new over the present versions.

I've made comparisons with several browsers and one of the ifrst omittd from the list was Chrome due to still being a rather half baked beta looking browser. Opera 11 comes in over both Chrome and FF yet IE 9 will be the one seeing use here for the most part.
