To update drivers, then I get this message when trying to open windows movie maker.

I tried the same thing on power director, and I'm having the same problem....

What on earth is going on?

AGHHHH!!

Bring back system restore points to much earlier dates like with windows XP, that solved EVERYTHING when I encountered such problems!!!! All I get is a few hours earlier!!

Re-reading your post it sounds like your video card is not powerful enough.
Did you click on the "video card requirements" in the message to see what it says?
What video card do you have?

You can set the amount of disk space used for system restore.

Control Panel > System > Advanced System Settings > System Protection
Select the Disk/Partition > Configure
Move the slider

Oh it's fine, it's powerful enough, I've never had any previous problems with it all whatsoever. Done LOADS of video editing on it before. It's an ATI Radeon.

As for the message, it says-

I'm guessing it's most definitely a virus.

As for the system restore points, why is it with win 7 you should have to set that up in advance yourself before you know anything is gonna happen, and on that day only, not a previous date? It's not as customisable as it was on XP. I only have Win 7 because I have a 64 bit machine, otherwise I'd give anything to get good ol XP back.

You had to do the same in XP if you wanted to increase the default settings, which are done as a percentage of the disk too.
