Yet another with Win32/Small.CA virus detected

Unfortunately, yes, and it still times out/goes non-responsive if I click on the message in Action Centre.

Since you cannot click on 'problem details' in the warning, please try the Archive this Message option shown in Post #8.
If it works, restart the computer, and post back on whether you get the message after the restart.

If there has been an instance where services.exe crashes, even if it is just once, it may trigger an Application Crash, and result in the Action Center message. However, this is just speculation on my part. You get no results from Problem Details on the message, and Event Viewer did not provide any useful information for 08/30/2013, so we do not have much to work with.

The issue is a quandary, and there are quite a few instances of this problem posted throughout the web.
Most have no resolution, if there is any, it is not consistent, and the scans run by the various posters come out clean.

Are you having any other issues that you think may be malware related?

Thanks cottonball for all your help and patience with this issue.

I've managed to archive the message and restarted the machine. I've no Action Center flag come up.

The only thing I have had that bothered me was that my Sophos AV/Firewall refused to stay active and be recognised by Windows 7 as active which even reinstalling didn't help. In the end, as I had an extra copy of BitDefender Total Internet Security, I simply installed the 2014 version and used the last key to active it and removed Sophos of course.

Windows 7 happily recognises BitDefender and plays nice with it so I'm satsified with things. And I am very grateful for your assistance. thanks again, scales clicked!

Good job, Dragonride!

Glad you got the AV issue solved.

As for the Action Center message, if it returns, do not hesitate to post back.

Also, thanks for the rep. Much appreciated, and my pleasure to help.

Have a great week!! :D
