You cannot play a Windows Media DRM protected file [Official]

I've successfully Upgrade my Windows Media Player DRM component today, by simply using this Microsoft Tip...

Downloaded the Windows Media .wma sample and tried to play it with WMP and then upgraded the file for being able to play it.

You cannot play a Windows Media DRM protected file or a Zune DRM protected file on a computer that is preconfigured with Windows 7.

Symptoms:
On a computer that is preconfigured with Windows 7, you cannot play a media file. The media file is Windows Media Digital Rights Management (DRM) protected or Zune DRM protected.

Additionally, you cannot purchase or play new Windows Media DRM protected media files and Zune DRM protected media files on this computer.

Resolution:

To resolve this issue, you must check the functionality of Windows Media DRM and Zune DRM. If Windows Media DRM and Zune DRM do not function, use the ResetDRM tool to reset DRM systems. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Test whether Windows Media DRM and Zune DRM function correctly on your computer. To do this, follow these steps:
   1. Download a sample media file and save it to your computer.

Note:
1) If the Windows Media DRM protected media plays successfully, the issue is resolved.

2) For those that have being using the ResetDRM.exe tool, it had to be deleted to avoid running this tool mistakenly after you have fixed this issue.

It could be a permanent solution, so might this get the "Sticky Threads"?

No help at all in Win7 Pro 64 bit!

It (ResetDRM.exe) keeps telling me I need Windows Media Player 11 installed? I have it set to Win7 compatibility mode and WMP 12 is currently installed. You would think these idiots at Microsoft would keep their white papers updated if they insist on distributing nuisanceware like Silverlight.

Never mind. Finally found a good use for Chrome. Got it to work there with their HTML5 player extension.
