Hi there
I have joined the domain at my company shortly after installing my laptop with windows 7 Ultimate, after joining the domain, i get a notification that says I am in a temporary profile and cannot access my files and files created will be deleted after I log off, I have noticed that after logging off and back on with Administrator profile, my profile has been deleted,

I am joining a server 2003 domain, could that be the problem?

Please help me resolve this if possible, your knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Owen

Hi owen and welcome

Your problem might lie in the fact that you may not have admin rights on the domain. Are you in the admin group on the domain?

Thanks for the welcome and reply, I have full admin control on the network, I have taken myself off the domain and joined the Workgroup again, however since I joined the Domain again after a clean install and it gives the same thing, logged into a temp profile etc..
do you think joining a Windows 7 O/S to a Server 2003 environment could be the problem, I have joined three new PC's to the domain but with XP and Vista O/S and it had no problems, it is very frustrating now as everything i do gets lost unless I back it up to a usb drive before shut down.

Could you not use a local administrator account? and create different domain account to access the laptop using those accounts?

I have used the local admin account and my local account which has full admin access, I tried it now again about 20minutes ago, the same thing happens, I'm not too sure what the hec is going on, maybe i should try and run an update for server 2003 and try again.
thanks
