Would you put your hands all over a toilet, seat and all? You probably wouldn't dare to. Playing around the toilet is the first thing that our mothers teach us not to do. However, you might as well just go now and play with it. After all, you're exposed to a lot more germs than on your toilet. Your keyboard, mouse, and computer desk are a lot germier than you may think.

you could say the same thing about door handles, telephones, taxis, buses, almost anything in a shop, in fact anything at all that has been touched by somebody else.

we have do have immune systems, after all.

But then again I have a theory. Like Mickey said we have an Immune system which is supposed to deal with those germs. But how can that system gets trained if each and every surface is wiped down with chlorine derivatives. Is it just me or is anybody else seeing a relation between the urge to sterilize everything and the rise of all kinds of allergies? From my childhood I don't recall knowing anyone with any form of allergy....from the people I get to know now almost every other is allergic to something. Perhaps I just know the wrong people then

Infants digestive tracks are not developed enough to ward off Botulism spores.
After the first year the body starts producing enough gastric juices to effectively kill them.

Many doctors and other medical and nutrition experts recommend not giving babies honey until they are a year old. Honey can contain Clostridium botulinum spores, which can cause severe illness in infants. Read....Botulism.
