My RAM is at 5.9 also.
Is it running in dual channel mode? Wouldn't put it past HP to either install it in the wrong slots, or have it mis-configured in the bios. I'm getting 7.3 with my ram and it is only DDR2 800 (and running slightly underclocked at that from running on a divider),

Now granted my CPU is overclocked to 3.3 GHz (which knowing HP you can't do) which will bring the ram score up a couple of points, but but not from 5.9 to 7.3. We have similar spec'ed systems,

and if it isn't running in dual channel, then open the case and see which of the slots it is in. Looking here is has 2 white and 2 black,

the sticks should be in either the first white and first black, or both white for it to work in dual channel mode.
P.S. Please don't take this the wrong way but upgrading for the WEI score is a fools errand, if the computer is doing what you want and/or need it is a waste of time and money upgrading. Now if you're upgrading for better game performance or something, then it makes sense.
Also the only way you're going to get a score above 6 is to get a SSD. 3 or 4 hard drives in RAID 0 might make it past 6, but only by a few points at best.
I have been inside my computer. I do know that both of them are right next to each other in the same color slots. But I am not sure what color ones. I am pretty sure they are in slots 3 & 4. Should I switch them to slots 1 & 2 you are saying. how do I know where exactly I should put them. Can you explain a little more how I would know where and why they should go.
Now I am liking this. I am learning something. I really am going to work on computers someday. I am getting my GED right now. Then I am going to school for computers. I plan on it anyway. I really wish I had friends like you guys t hang out with.
I know that doing it for that reason is not the best reason. But I do plan on playing X-Box on here instead of getting a whole new X-Box. So yes part of the reason would be to make sure I can do good gaming. No I have not tried the games yet. Because I have none. But I do want to make sure I have at least a good video card in my PC. The other main reasoning for it. Is so I can use multiple screens. So my girlfriends daughter can watch TV on one screen while I use the computer to do what I want on the other. So there is a couple reasons for it. But yes I do want to know that I have a half decent computer. Seeing that 4.3 really hurts me when I see that all the rest are at 5.9 or higher. Then there is my video card. 5.3 and 4.3. I hate that. I want more. Mostly for video games and multiple screens.
