Solved Yukon 88E8059 Ethernet Drivers

Hey guys, I kind of have a wee bit of a problem. I have 2 versions of Windows OS on my computer, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on my primary Hard Disk, and Windows Vista Ultimate x86 on a secondary Hard Disk (2 different drives). Windows 7 is my primary OS, and Vista is my new backup secondary OS (in case Windows 7 breaks or gets corrupt). I installed a fresh copy of Windows Vista on my secondary Hard Disk and wiped Windows XP Professional from it. However, here's where my issue lies.

Windows Vista won't allow me to install my Marvell Yukon Ethernet controller drivers because it asks for at least "Vista SP1" to be installed. I can't install the updates because I have no network drivers installed on my backup OS. I've searched Marvell's drivers list for my Ethernet card (Yukon 88E8059) I've tried installing the correct setup but as said above, it asks for SP1 to be installed. :L I am currently at a complete loss of idea's here, and this is where I need help.

If anyone could help with this, it'd be greatly appreciated!

I may be able to help you here. Is it just a case of you need to install Vista SP1?

If so heres a link for a stand alone package:

(It about half way down page and reads - "click to download different versions of Windows Vista SP1")

How to obtain the latest Windows Vista service pack

Find the one you need and then you can tranfer it to Win Vista drive and install.

Download the standalone Service Packs for Vista whilst you are in W7, and place them on a USB stick. Boot up into Vista and install them from the USB stick. Be sure to install SP1 before SP2, and reboot when prompted.

OK, so I installed SP1 and then re-attempted to install the Ethernet drivers and it works fine now. Was able to download my Graphics Card drivers so I could change Vista's resolution to 1920x1080 for the full screen of 16:9 wide.
