"You have been logged on with a temporary profile" has shown up again . Same computer, after a fresh re-install, no clue what's causing it. Luckily the main Administrator account has had no issues at all (the account with all the crap on it), so I ended up just deleting the others and the computer only has one account now.

It'd be nice to have four accounts, but I guess its not 100% necessary.....oh well ....

Try booting to Safe Mode (tapping F8 just before the Windows splash screen shows up).

Most problems that I've read about involve Google software. Try uninstalling any Google software (particularly the Google Update software) to see if that helps.

Disable your startups to see if that helps - do it temporarily with MSCONFIG, or more permanently with the free Autoruns: Autoruns for Windows

Huh, never thought that Google software would be an issue! I have some Google software on there.....Chrome is used exclusively, and then I have google earth and sketchup 8 installed. Maybe that's the reason why my personal laptop is working...I have no google software (use FF and IE9 instead of Chrome).

I went through msconfig and removed everything I knew was okay to remove.

Maybe I'll try uninstalling Google earth or sketchup, maybe both, don't think they're used at all.

FYI - MSCONFIG is a troubleshooting tool only. So, once you've figured out what's wrong - use the free program Autoruns to permanently disable it. I mention this because I saw issues with some Vista systems when using MSCONFIG (and haven't tried to reproduce it with Win7).

Okay, thanks for the info, before I never really saw the point in Autoruns because Msconfig works just fine for me, but for the purposes of this issue I may give Autoruns a try...
