Hey Guys
My mate bought a set of 8gb (2x4) F3 12800CL9D- 8GBXL and later decided to get sniper series. he waited about 4 months to change his mind but hadn't started his built yet.

I agreed to buy it off him for 40bucks still sealed.

I have the same memory in my current setup with Asrck z68 extreme4

The system has crashed a few times and BSOD as well since adding the extra memory.

Ran MEMTEST86+ for 14hours and no dramas. All good. As soon as i booted up windows again i get a 45error code in the motherboard debug. I took out the 2 new sticks and it booted fine.

The timing and voltage setting is still default. Is it necessary to make changes to the timing and voltage settings in the motherboard BIOS?

Well code 45 is the memory error code. I happen to have an extreme 4 myself.

This doesn't exactly mean the memory is bad, though it could mean a memory slot is bad.
It could also mean you just chose your memory badly the compatibility lists for ram on these boards is kind of a strange one.

Have you seen error code 67 by any chance?

Haven't seen the 67 code

Anyway just a update.

Did the McAfee uninstall etc and the problem is still there.

No BSOD but did have a code 45 and does not boot.

Unplugged machine for 30min and it booted up.

I really don't know what to tell you. I'm kind of thinking there may be a problem with the board itself, because mine was the very definition of plug and play.
Do you have xmp compatible ram in it?
If so did you set it for xmp?
If you are running xmp already, maybe that is the issue, turn it off.
That's really about all I have for you right now in the way of trying to settle it down.

Hey mate,
Thats what the computer shop told me today when i went to RMA it.

I came home and turned on the XMP and BF3 lasted a good 30minutes.
Than the system won't boot. Got 45 debug code.

outside of trying different combinations of ram to find one that works I don't know what to tell you, at this point the problem would seem to be the ram or the motherboard itself.

Really disappointing to see one of these having trouble I've actually been recommending them based on my personal experience.
