I havn't had the guts to install the x64 as my main yet, I've had it running in VMware tho in the background and all seemed normal. (albeit with my lack of RAM!)

Hows the stabilty been on both versions (86 & 64) during your hammering of it? Any unexpected crashes out of the norm or anything?

You would expect it...but now my uptime has not been disturbed so far for which I am very glad!

It didn't half seem dodgy the way the x64 was packed up in the rar's in my eye's. I take my hat of to you for your recent work and explorations for sevenforums. Top banana!

Nice that you took your time to check this build.

However the fact that it had a clean bill of health against the virus scanners and anti spyware scanners, doesn't mean a thing. These rely on signatures, if someone wants to do harm, and inserted some nasty things, those most likely wouldn't be included into the signatures.

indeed...which is why I took it a step further and ran the x86 version for awhile until I got comfortable...and decided to test it full time and post back any thing wierd that happens to it

Not all AV's rely only on signatures. Some, such as ESET AV use pretty effective heuristic analysis in addition to signature based analysis.

Right, I think that's what heuristic analysis I referred to above means, at least in part.

This is a very interesting and helpful thread. Not everybody is a geek. I wouldn't know how to do these indepth checks. I'm more comfortable now running 7600 (segobi version of 16.385 x86).
