Hi guys I've searched on the internet and the apparent solutions hadn't worked for me (winzip/winrar/7zip and joiner programs) and I have searched here finding nothing on this file archive.
I downloaded several films split into zip.001, 002, 003 etc. files and when getting the final piece and trying all the archivers suggested on the internet for this, either the files aren't recognised or they unpack to a zip folder which cannot be opened and extracted.

I've got 2 films split up in this way but, I'm not sure if perhaps the problem is a damaged archive or not. I know when 7zip opened the zip.001 file it showed that in the folder was an avi so after numerous attempts at renaming the originals .avi.001 etc or the unpacked file .avi they are not recognised at all and I'm really out of ideas as to what the problem here is. If indeed this is due to a damaged archive then fair enough there isn't much to do apart from remove them from my HDD but, if there is a solution I'd love to know as it took forever to get all the pieces.

Thanks in advance for any help offered and, feel free to comment if you have had a similar issue like this so it can be narrowed down what we're all doing to try find a solution and what doesn't work!

Make sure all the pieces are saved in the same location, and then run the first piece. It should automatically unpack them all into a single folder.

Hello,

I have seen this before. Use 7zip. Right Click on <Filename.zp>.001 then it will give an option to extract it. But if it still says it corrupted this it probably should be corrupted because it's been created using 7zip.

Good Luck,
Captain

I've tried that with loads of archivers like winzip, winrar, winace and more but, it doesn't seem to work for me I know it worked only one time with 7zip but, never again since

Have you tried to show all file extenions to see for a fact it is .001.
I have had the same thing and noticed it was really named .zip.
Just got rid of the .zip and left .001 and it worked.
So give it a try and write back.

Later....................Jimmy

Hey, I've tried removing the zip part but, it just shows a blank file as a result, I tried adding .avi/.wmv to the end because I know its a video file but nothing seems to work with them :(

Well try to re-download them and see if that works. More likely it might be corrupted.

It is supoose to look like a blank file.
try to piece it togeter then.
Or you could take sparrows advise and redownload it.
This time pay close attention to the type of file.
It should say .001 and nothing more.

Later...............Jimmy

May just be several zipped files containing the real zip parts. (Some due this for some starnge reason)

Just make a new folder and unzip all the parts into it.

you end up with all the parts, together, in one folder from the originals.

Now try and unzip the 1st one from the parts you got, and youll get your file. They all need to be together thoigh.
