By the way, I see you use registry tweaks. Here's a couple handy ones I use, if you want me to attatch the files. They are for quick links when you right click on "Computer."

As you can see, there's MSCONFIG in there, as well as the registry editor. Keeps you from having to type the commands into the run box all the time.

By the way, I see you mess with Windows services too. I'm leary of doing that, because I've had a bad experience with it before. My OS system is already lightning fast, so I see no need to go messing around with the services. Thanks for the file though.

The tutorial on optimizing Windows 7 was a great help for me. Me little machine is running clean and mean.

If its the one about the program like end it all there are some programs running in the backround and I dont know what they are.Every few times I shut the system down it says therre are programs hanging it up and I still cant see what they are.I have done the Black Viper services etc..I was told to use a program called 1 Click but it wont start on my system....

Clay,

You can press open Task Manager (CTRL+SHIFT+ESC), and look in both the Applications and Processes tab to see what is running before you shut down to help you with possibly spotting a common one that's always there that might be the culprit.

When you are ready to shut down, be sure that you close all open windows and programs. You can also adjust your WaitToKillServiceTimeout time by trying different settings using the tutorial below to see if that may help.

Awesome tutorial Shawn...boy i love your tutorial everytime i visit any of your's tut they always increase my knowledge i know 90% what's have been said & shared in your tut...Awesome man i guess my rep goes to you...

i got two question for yaa:
1) how SSD is faster then normal HDD?
2) when I's working with EDS my colleague updated his com's BIOS & that started a series of problem like he lost latest Fonts that he got, his version of OS got changed etc. Even i could never figure out why & how this could happen, so, before i give a 2nd thought to 2nd point of this tut i want know is it 100% full proof to upgrade once BIOS or should it be done under any special condition????
Though i got over 15 tut that covers the same points & was thinking of putting them up but you saved my work by doing great job again...

Q1) A SSD is faster since it uses memory chips instead of a slower spinning platter. Because of this, a SSD can read and write much faster. Plus a HDD is much more prone to mechanical failure where a SSD is not mechanical and should last much longer. For more details on this, you can read up on SSD's at the link below if you like.

Q2) Not sure why he had that problem either.

Before flashing the BIOS, you should look at the new BIOS release notes to see what's new in it and if it's worth upgrading to. If you do, then you would need to consult with your Acer computer's manual to see how they say you need to flash the BIOS for that model and brand. It varies on how. Just remember that a mistake made while flashing your BIOS could kill your motherboard.

Shawn said that is enough i don't wanna mess with my BIOS because the ACER help center (in India) are not aware or how to do it or the consequence of it except that it might harm my lappi...Hahhahhaa they ask me to re-install OS for every second issue as simple as my Web Cam not working....though i do have the latest drivers for BIOS from their website but before i do that i wanted to be sure....
