Windows Media Player - Enable Song Lyrics

How to Display Song Lyrics in Windows Media Player​

   Information
This tutorial will show you how to view the lyrics from the current playing song in Windows Media Player.
   Note
To enable lyrics you'll need to download and install a small plugin (220KB).

Download Lyrics Plugin


The N and KN editions of Windows 7 have all the features that normally come with each individual Windows 7 edition, except for Windows Media Player 12 and related programs, such as Windows Media Center or Windows DVD Maker.

The N editions of Windows 7 allow you to choose your own media player and software required to manage and play CDs, DVDs, and other digital media files. If you choose to use Windows Media Player 12, downloading it, along with related software, is free. Download Media Feature Pack for Windows 7 N with Service Pack 1 and Windows 7 KN with Service Pack 1 (KB968211) from Official Microsoft Download Center




After you download the plugin for Windows Media Player,install it.

Now,run the Windows Media Player by typing in Start menu:




Windows Media Player

Open some song and begin playing with it,and after that switch the player to Now Playing mode. wmp.PNG
After clicking that button,the window will be changed to Now Playing mode.

You'll see a song's lyrics there. It should look like this: wmp1.PNG
Now,everytime when you switch to Now Playing the song lyrics

will be displayed there. (If it's available)



If you want to disable the plugin:

From the menu Tools select Plug-ins and uncheck Lyrics Plugin wmp2.png

Ive got this working to a certain extent but im unable to customize the lyrics screen.They show up on the configure page but not on the actual lyrics page.

Anyone else having any joy with this

Its the colour of the background on the lyrics page I cant get to change.The white is to bright for my eyes.
I've set my preferences with the configure button at the bottom of the lyrics page but can't get them to apply

Hello danny. I just installed IE,because I can't open that link. I see that it works fine for me. Just have changed it.

Thanks for looking again Boshko.Have tried installing a few time with no joy it wont accept the changes.Weird:rolleyes:

Also if I play say from a list the first songs lyrics dont display I have to skip up 1 track then down 1 to get it to start.This only happens the first time I open it though.

Yep not getting this one.Tried all the solutions listed here Lyrics Plugin For Windows 7 Media Player 12 and still no joy.Turned media player off in control panel then back on again. Reset IE9, no joy. It flashes as though its going to change but just doesn't lol.Almost as though its a pop up blocker kind of problem but I turned that off too.Grrrrrrr

Archie did the configure tab open IE9 for you im convinced its an IE9 problem
