    multiple boot Windows 7

not a case. If I take away new_Windows_7 from first hdd, grub boots old_Windows_7 from second hdd no problem. CentOS boots at any case.
I did it, actually. Now I can boot all CentOS systems from Grub and transfer boot control to Windows Boot menu. I can start Windows 7 from 2nd drive now. Sure, from the 1st also. Both versions of Windows works from c:. I like the automation. Volume letter is changing depending on which system is active even in boot loader configuration. Cool.
It is done from administration cmd prompt, a couple of bcdedit commands.
    I don't need a EasyBCD unless it's for free

    Windows 7 Home Premium x64

    Hi,

I bought a brand new laptop Asus Notebook K53 with Windows 7 Home Premium last week. The first thing I did is to make the system recovery DVD. Then, I have tried to install Windows 7 Ultimate. So I ran the boot CD of Win 7 Ultimate, notice that there were two partitions : RECOVERY (about 30 Gb) and another partition with aproximately 460 GB (in the user manual, it was clearly write to "DO NOT delete the partition named RECOVERY because it cannot be restore if deleted"). With those new informations, I formated my other partition and launch the installation of Windows 7 Ultimate and wait... At the end of the installation, all seems work and i'm able to use my laptop as well. When I restarted my laptop, the problem come: my computer boot on the initial Windows 7 Home Premium page and then restart! I have read about your tutorial for using multi boot but your examples are only with Windows XP (ntldr). By that, I really ask myself about what to do because it is sure that Windows 7 Ultimate is install but I don't know how to make my laptop booting on the good sector.

    Hope you can help me,

    Gabriel.

PS: Sorry if my english can seems bad, i'm now learning the english

elevated command prompt - run as admin makes no difference

When i right click "Run as Administrator" on the command prompt shortcut from the start menu, it opens a C:\users\<user>\ and not the System32 folder. (and then when i type "bcdedit" it doesnt recognize the command)

But when i right click "Run as Admin" on the actual cmd.exe in System32 (or just click open) it opens in the System32 folder (and in both cases, Admin or not, it runs "bcdedit")

What's possibly wrong with my system ?

That's fine. You should be able to also do so using a command prompt at boot from step 1. :)

In that case, I would recommend to create a new thread about the BSOD issue in the Crashes and Debugging forum area for better specific help for it. I hope it will be able to get sorted soon for you. :)

    Hi Neuro,

With reference to Advanced Boot Options, try Last Known Good Configuration (advanced).

If that doesn't work, you might need to refer to System Recovery Options
