Make bootable iso from student d/l

    You will need to create a bootable .iso from the downloaded files and burn to dvd/flash.

    Boot the dvd/flash drive and install.

    You may find this a very easy way:

    You are super awesome. I have a scratched windows 7 disk that would install from within windows but couldn't boot from disk. This trick allowed me to fix it.

    I have a bootable DVD. Is it possible to use this to create a bootable USB?

    As far as I can tell, there is no .iso on the bootable DVD.

    Hi Tipsy,

    You can install the free ISO Recorder v3

    You don't see anything after you install it - rt click on the dvd drive and select "Create image from cd/dvd". That will create an iso image for you.


    You could also use this free app. to make a bootable usb stick directly from the files on the dvd:

    WinToFlash - Install Windows from usb - Home page

    Thanks. I just used WinToFlash as recomended by SIW2 and it appears to have worked perfectly! Very simple!
