    Here's the link from HP on how to. It should be the same in Windows 7 as well. :)

    Ruth,

    You should be able to do so using this option there though.

    On startup, press f11 to launch Recovery Manager.

    That's useless unless I can create a backup disc, isn't it?

    I can't create a backup disc because a password is required and I'm afraid to do the f11 thing in case it kills the computer.

    At step 5 below there, you will have an option to create a backup first.

    "When prompted, select the Back up your files first (recommended) option, and then click Next . Follow the on-screen instructions."

    Well, I finally got my problem solved. I ended up calling Office Depot and they gave me the password into the administrator's account. I truly appreciate your patience and your prompt responses! Thank you so much! I hope you have a lovely day!

    hey guys a quick question..by enabling the admin account i should copy all my files and programs there so to get away from manually having to run each program as administrator and not use my normal account anymore?
