But does Rufus restrict you one ISO on the flash drive?
Not really.
If you used Rufus to put a windows iso on usb, then it will be the extracted contents, which use windows boot process.
Windows boot process cannot direct boot iso files , as far as I know.
If you want to dump iso files on the usb as well, you will have to use something linux to boot them.
But if you only want to put other windows wim files on there, then you can boot those via windows process. Simply add the entries to bcd. Not difficult.
That's why I used YUMI, I have WinPE, WinRE, memtest, Parted Magic and some others on one stick.
I used Rufus 1.4.6 to install the Macrium PE rescue ISO on a USB stick and it would only allow NTFS but it would not boot. I then formatted back to fat32 and used Macrium to write to the USB stick and it works great. I used PE5 on my 8.1 system to build.
